The Design and Communication Career Day, hosted at Curtin Mauritius, brought together students, academics, and leading professionals for a vibrant celebration of creativity and career opportunities. Organised in collaboration with the Association of Communication Agencies of Mauritius (ACA), the event created an engaging space for young creatives to explore the exciting world of design and communication.
The day opened with insightful speeches from Dr Jeremy Charoux, Executive Director of Charles Telfair Education and Mrs Ranjana Foogooa, President of the ACA, setting an energising tone for what followed. Guests then heard from four inspiring industry leaders — Alexandra Avice and Vincent Montocchio from Circus Advertising, Matthieu Benoit from The Mauritius Commercial Bank and Yanis Sookloll from FCBCREAD — who shared their career journeys, experiences, and perspectives on the evolving creative landscape. Their stories highlighted the possibilities, challenges, and rewarding paths awaiting future professionals in this dynamic field.
Throughout the event, students had the opportunity to meet and interact with several industry partners who showcased real career pathways, internships, and job prospects. The conversations, demonstrations, and guidance offered throughout the day helped bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice, giving students a clearer vision of where their passion could take them.
